SIR - While watching the final Love Island for research purposes, I heard presenter Caroline Flack say to the viewers: "If you're wondering whether to go to Oxford, Cambridge or Love Island next year, it really is a no-brainer". Never have I heard the phrase 'no-brainer' used so accurately.
This programme is yet another nail in the coffin of human beings as a sentient race. Intelligence and good taste are increasingly not seen as an ingredient of glamour and beauty, thanks to an industrial dumbing down of entertainment output by the liberal elite in British broadcasting.
And because of reducing standards academically, our society is producing an army of over qualified, semi-literate people who only think about possessions, think it's cool to be bad at maths, say 'like' all the time and call women 'guys'.
There's not much hope.
