SIR - Re "EU delivers for the rich", (Steve Arloff, T&A letters, June 14): Mr Arloff says ordinary people are being made to pay for the 2008 Financial Crisis, while the rich get richer. There is no connection with the EU, however, as he seems to suggest.
The UK is still a basically independent country within an international club whose rules we play a large part in formulating. The essentially Anglo-Saxon Financial crash and our Tory party's programme of austerity to "cure" it has little or nothing to do with the EU!
This is an unfounded criticism of the EU just like criticism of the European Court of Human Rights which caused at least one person I know to vote for Brexit. The ECHR is not part of the EU
