SIR - Steve Arloff appears to believe the EU is the architect of every European country`s woes. I`m sorry Mr Arloff but I`m afraid that`s the myth generated to allow our brave Brexiteers to gain momentum in this country.

All European countries are sovereign states whose own governments have caused their own economic problems. Yes, in some cases it has been self inflicted by joining the Eurozone, fortunately we had the good sense to steer clear of it.

I agree in part with his views on the 2008 financial crisis and the fact that the rich got away scot free at the expense of ordinary people, but that was down to corporate globalisation.

He speaks of other countries queueing up to do free trade deals with the UK, however, anyone who thinks that will happen overnight may as well set out on a unicorn hunt!

Does Mr Arloff believe we will get a ''great deal'' with the USA? Or India? I don`t think the army of Ukippers would be too pleased to accept that deal which would involve a huge hike in travel visas!

I sincerely hope Mr Arloff finds his unicorn and adds it to the herd rounded up by the British Empire Revivalist movement.
