SIR - The ancient Romans were right, I think, to name this month after their God Janus (who looked both backward and forwards) to start the year. Although nostalgia isn’t quite what it used to be perhaps the WEA course on offer at Shipley Library might be a cure for any winter blues still hanging around some of your readers?
We’re looking at post-war Britain with the help of extracts from such British comedy films as The Happiest Days of Your Life, and I’m All Right Jack with the likes of Margaret Rutherford, Alistair Sim and Peter Sellers.
Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided and our sessions are for 10 Fridays, starting January 19, 10am - 12 noon.
For details phone 0300 303 3464. See you at the pictures!
Dr Sidney Brown, Glenhurst Road, Shipley
