SIR - Colin Durkin (T&A letters, March 27) tries to tell us that, in his eyes, “the lunatics currently in charge of the asylum have got their way” as far as the government of this country is concerned.

Well, the response from many of us to that, ignoring the ridiculous language, is thank goodness for that.

The thought of an alternative with such as Corbyn, McDonnell and Chakrabarti in control simply doesn’t bear thinking about. “Lunatics” would then go nowhere near describing the chaos that would ensue.
