SIR – Re R Heaton’s letter (T&A, March 17) ‘So when can I book a doctor’s appointment?’ I have asked the same question at my doctor’s in Girlington Road, Allerton Health Centre, to be told the same. It is impossible now to see your GP, that’s if you get past receptionist and the practice manager does not fare any better either.
Gone are the old ways where you were seen the same day. That is why A&E is full to bursting out the doors, at least you will be seen within four hours and not three weeks.
You are penalised if you work. The old system worked brilliantly, an evening surgery for the workers because some people still hold down a job.
I am not going out at my age to buy a laptop/computer just so I can make appointments at my doctor’s.
Can someone out there tell us how do you get to see your doctor?
