READER LETTER: We paid Europe with our wartime service
SIR - So the EU want us to pay in ‘prep’ of Brexit talks!
We have paid millions in ‘Blood Money’ of dead soldiers in the 1914 and 1939 World Wars; go over there and walk around the cemeteries, and then read the sacrifice of the Bradford Pals.
There would not be a Europe had it not been for us.
I wish we had left them to fight amongst themselves.
I never have considered myself to be a European; I’m British.
