SIR – Once again we have the unelected inhabitants of the House of Lords - comprising hereditary peers a throwback to feudal times, those by patronage, favouritism and of course Bishops who would surely be more at home in church or cathedrals - attempting to undermine the House of Commons’ Brexit Bill with their so-called scrutiny and advice, having no power to over-rule the legislation and so must be an irrelevance in the 21st century.
Time to consign them to history and channel the money saved to the more needy in society whose only claim to a title is Mr, Mrs Ms - also known as the common man and woman.
