SIR - During the EU Referendum, the Bishop of Leeds Rt Rev Nick Baines, formerly of Bradford, was an outspoken supporter of the Remain campaign.
The result distressed him to the extent that he has criticised those who voted to Leave during the last six months.
It is clear this cleric does not accept the democratic decision of the British people.
Thankfully there is at least one public voice within the Anglican church, the retired former Archbishop of Canterbury George Carey, who calls upon everybody to be more calm, sensibly accepting the Brexit result.
Archbishop Carey states the over-reaction of the liberal politically-correct elite is obnoxious, doing great damage, only exacerbating the divide between communities. The country requires perfect peace and harmony pulling together to continue the UK’s sustained prosperity.
