SIR - Just when parts of the city centre, notably the “top of town”, are experiencing a welcome renaissance, we learn that Bradford Council intends to increase parking charges.
Instead of free parking after 4pm, charges will be levied until 6pm. This could potentially kill the thriving teatime and after-work trade which the cafes and bars in North Parade rely on, and if some are forced to close that will be very bad for Bradford.
The Council needs to think again. It is vital that we keep the top of town alive after five.
