SIR – I wish to highly recommend using the trains as a luxury means of travelling.
I did not know how to go about a train service as a means to travel as it 40 years since I have used a train and was afraid of how to use the service until my younger sister gave me the experience this weekend. I am 84-years-old.
We left Bradford and purchased a ticket to Skipton and the ride was absolute luxury, gliding through unbelievable scenery in less time than it takes me in my Limousine motor car.
I arrived in Skipton complete with my dog, relaxed and unaltered, far better than a mad road ride racing other cars horns blowing, stopping and starting 100 times of road rage. I would highly recommend to other car users to get on a train - try it, you will be pleasantly amazed.
I am looking forward to the national train service returning again.
The stations should never have been demolished. All the car is fit for is a shopping trolley on wheels. The days of luxury motors have gone forever.
