SIR - Ian Chapman gives thanks (T&A letters, September 15) for the election of Jeremy Corbyn as leader of the Labour party.
At the same time, the only reliable opinion poll to appear since Mr Corbyn’s appointment shows the Conservative down two points and Labour up one.
In other words, the gap between the two parties has gone down by three points in less than a week with the Tories now below 40 per cent for the first time since the General Election. Praise the Lord indeed !
