SIR – Having watched the Labour deputy leadership results given, I worried that the main one for leader might be an anti-climax.

But no, the result was clearer and more decisive than ever. Jeremy Corbyn the winner on the first round of votes.

What factors influenced this I wouldn’t speculate. But you know, he looks and sounds more like a real Labour leader than the last three or four.

Who may join his Shadow Cabinet is unclear, as several Labour MPs previously declared they would not serve under him. But when the chance comes how many will stick by those principles?

Although the next General Election is not until 2020 all things being equal I do believe Jeremy Corbyn might just be able to reach the parts of the electorate messrs Miliband and Brown never could to get Labour back in power.

But as a ‘new broom’ I think a priority should be to get rid of the buy to let millionaire private limited company/tax avoiding expenses fiddling ‘closet capitalists’ of which there are far too many in Labour.

If he promises to abolish the corrupt House of Lords as well even I might vote Labour again.
