Rare condition should be priority for funding
SIR - Young Sam Brown of Otley who has a rare condition, not of his fault, and costly, is still waiting for the NHS hierarchy to make a decision as to funding.
The NHS provides free treatment for self-inflicted conditions such as obesity, alcoholism, drug addiction so why can’t they provide for Sam and others like him?
Harold Wilson ex-PM once coined the phrase: “It’s a question of priorities”. Makes you think, doesn’t it?
