SIR – The work undertaken by Bradford Council’s wardens has become more stretched in recent times due to cutbacks, making it imperative that they concentrate on the more important safety issues.

What then are we to make of the article (T&A, March 3) which stated that residents in Fagley were to be given two days of guidance on the correct ways to dispose of their waste?

Just who are these people who do not have the common sense to be aware of the very basics of waste disposal?

Surely there are much more important issues for the wardens to deal with rather than telling people the blindingly obvious?
