SIR – The ever increasing congestion of roads, causing very long delays at the junction of New Works Road, Abbscott Lane and Huddersfield Road is now intolerable.
A serious accident is waiting to happen.
The ongoing housing sites, plus increasing commercial usage along with the new Appleton Academy with over 2,000 people visiting daily term time is now making the congestion totally unacceptable.
Well over 20 years ago on one of my regular visits to Bradford Design Office, I viewed a large-scale plan showing an oval-shaped roundabout, expertly designed due to the stagger of the two minor roads obviously then being considered necessary, but never put into place.
An alternative could be traffic lights which strangely appears very popular with Bradford Council – maybe there are some special discounts available?
South Bradford does get somewhat neglected but this is an ever increasing link to our city. Do we needs another 12-year campaign?
