Train fan's a winner

10:30am Tuesday 7th August 2001

A CREATIVE youngster has scooped first prize in a drawing competition organised by the News Shopper.

Scott Ainsworth-Payne, eight, of Sutherland Avenue, Biggin Hill, is a keen train enthusiast, so when he read about the Thomas the Tank Engine drawing competition in the paper, he got straight to work.

Run in conjunction with the Glades Shopping Centre and The Early Learning Centre, judges chose Scott's creation over the sackfull of other entries. Scott's prize saw him net £200 worth of Thomas the Tank Engine goodies.
