After missing the cut in the San Paulo Vita & Asset Management Open in Italy last week, Sandy Lodge golfer Sam Little has it all to do if he is to make it into the top 45 of the Challenge Tour Order of Merit.

Little has slipped down the rankings to 60th and, with just two tournaments remaining, has to put in a sprint finish to make up almost £7,000 in the remaining two tournaments and secure a place in the final stage of the European Tour Qualifying School in Spain in November .

"I probably need two top ten finishes or a top five," he said. "I was playing nicely last week but just missed the odd putt here and there. It's so bunched up and the margin is so fine that it makes a big difference."

Little tees off at the Hardelot Challenge de France near Bologne on Thursday, October 11, before going to Italy for the Terme Euganee International Open next week.

He has played socially at the Hardelot course before: "It's tree-lined and rewards good play. With it being in northern France, it's likely to be windy and wet which should suit the English boys."
