    Cancer sufferer's wedding dream
Cancer victim Michelle Fuller gets a hug from pal Carol Simpson who is helping to make her wedding dream come true
Cancer victim Michelle Fuller gets a hug from pal Carol Simpson who is helping to make her wedding dream come true

The friends of a young mum who has been diagnosed with inoperable mouth cancer have rallied around to give her the wedding she has always dreamed of.

Michelle Fuller, 33, was told in January that the cancer she underwent an operation to tackle last year had returned, and that further surgery was not an option.

Now her pals have come together to launch a fundraising campaign to try to get her a summer wedding - something Michelle, who has a seven-year-old daughter, Morgan, has always dreamed of.

They are holding a series of events to raise cash quickly, and are appealing to local businesses to help out and give Michelle a magical day with fiance Mall Brown, 31.

Carol Simpson and Jacqui Eley are leading the charge and are determined to see their friend walking down the aisle in June or July this year.

Carol said: "She's gone through such a lot in the last 12 months. Now we're wanting help. We want her to have a really good wedding.

"She wants to marry the love of her life, who has been an absolute rock. She's the most lively person and has not been depressed about anything she has been through.

"We just want anyone to help us, donate as much as you can. Anything that could make the day special for her and her daughter. Her friends are doing some fundraising, organising some events and raffles.

"If you could just take time to see what she has been through and just help us, it would give her such a wonderful and special day and something I think she deserves.

"We need the donations as soon as possible, her condition is not going to get any better and we don't know how far it is going to progress. On her special day she wants to look really lovely and hopefully in June or July we can have this wedding up and running."

Last year, Michelle, of Clayton, Bradford, endured blood-sucking leeches placed on her tongue four times a day for more than a week to boost circulation to her reconstructed tongue following surgery to remove a cancerous tumour, which if left untreated would have proved fatal.

But several weeks ago Michelle was given the devastating news that the cancer had returned.

But the inspirational mum is determined to fight the disease and is undergoing chemotherapy, which has caused her to lose her hair. And, she will undergo medical trials if her current treatment is not successful.

She said: "I am going to fight it, the wedding has given me something to look forward to and is giving me something to concentrate on.

"I won't give up and I look to people like Jane Tomlinson for strength.

"If anyone could help me I would really, really appreciate it. It would make my world."

Her friends are desperately trying to source the dress of Michelle's dreams for the day, flowers, a photographer, car and a DJ.

Anyone who can help should contact Carol on (01274) 884643 or 07841 515815 or email her at carol.simpson@risksmart.co.uk
