    An eggs-citing Easter in store!
James Martin who will be demonstrating his culinary skills in Bingley
James Martin who will be demonstrating his culinary skills in Bingley

Children will be hunting desperately for hidden Easter eggs and celebrity chef James Martin will be strutting his culinary stuff in Bingley as the people of the district come out to play and celebrate the Easter break this weekend.

Mr Martin, a Yorkshire native, will be the star attraction at the Bingley Fine Food Festival on Good Friday to mark the opening of the town's smart new square.

He will be guest of honour when the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Robin Owens, officially opens the square at 10am. An hour later the foodie fun starts as Mr Martin hosts the first of two cooking demonstrations, with a second performance at 2pm.

The epicurean revels continue on Sunday, as Harvey Nichols chef Robert Ramsden cooks up a treat in the market square.

The two-day event will feature more than 30 food stalls which will sell locally-sourced produce, including dry cured bacon, ham and black pudding, fresh trout, home-made breads, jams and chutneys as well as Yorkshire cheeses.

Tickling your taste buds will be delicious desserts such as crepes, waffles, bonbons and Belgian chocolates.

Children all over the district will be searching for Easter eggs in several Easter egg hunts.

The Easter Bunny has hidden clues all over Bolling Hall Museum in Bowling Hall Road and families can hunt for them from today until April 6. Children can collect the answers to claim a chocolatey prize.

Children in Greengates can win a delicious hamper by taking part in the family Easter Egg hunt at Sainsbury's ubtil Saturday.

Once they have completed the in-store Easter hunt, children can enjoy the puzzles, word searches and quizzes before entering into a draw to win a Cadbury Easter hamper.

Store manager Jamie Baker said: "We are really excited about the Easter hunt and it's good fun for adults too and I'm sure a few mums and dads will be helping their children find the answers."
