A CONVICTED sex offender who was found with extreme pornographic images on his mobile has escaped jail.

Police made a routine check on Tygue Crowther’s phone and found he had 11 images and four film clips depicting sexual activity between women and dogs.

Crowther, 28, of Foldings Parade, Scholes, Cleckheaton, initially blamed his brother, who he said had given him the mobile.

Richard Walters, prosecuting, said Crowther had been convicted in 2011 of sexual activity with a child and having indecent images, after a relationship with a 13-year-old girl who had initially lied about her age.

Michael Collins, defending, said Crowther was now living separately from his wife and child and had failed to grasp the seriousness of possessing images such as these.

The Recorder of Bradford, Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC handed Crowther a 14-month suspended jail sentence.

He must complete 200 hours of unpaid work and a programme for sex offenders.
