THE launch of Aldi’s new Barnoldswick store has seen 22 new jobs filled by members of the community, with the store due to open its doors to the public in the coming weeks.

Aldi, crowned Employer of the Year 2017 at the prestigious Grocer Gold Awards, has one of the highest rates of pay in the supermarket sector, with the majority of Aldi colleagues now receiving a minimum rate of £8.85 per hour, regardless of their age.

All colleagues will benefit from rising salaries during their service, with store assistant salaries rising to £10.41 after just four years.

The discount supermarket has appointed Kieron Sethi, who lives in Fence, to the position of store manager.

Kieron joined Aldi in 2012 and will now lead the Barnoldswick store team, having received comprehensive training and business management experience at a number of Aldi stores in the region.

Kieron said: “It’s always exciting to open a new store and the team and I look forward to meeting customers over the coming months.

“We’ve put together a brilliant, local team to help run the Barnoldswick store and I’m confident that together we can provide an excellent shopping experience for customers.”

Aldi will announce plans for its Barnoldswick store launch celebrations in the coming weeks.

The store will be located on Skipton Road.
