SETTLE Parish Church will celebrate its 180th anniversary with a special exhibition.

The exhibition, which runs from Easter Sunday until Tuesday, will include photographs of ‘Old Settle’ from the Horner collection, courtesy of Jean Jelley; photographs and artefacts of ‘Old Settle’, courtesy of John Reid; stories of the Settle and Carlisle Railway by the Friends of Settle and Carlisle Railway Line; a display of historic documents relating to the church and its early years; plus the launch of a celebration ale called Ascension 180, which has been specially brewed by Settle Brewery.

There will also be an Ascension 180 grand raffle, featuring 180 prizes.

The grand opening of the exhibition will take place at 2pm on Sunday and will done by Audrey Pemberton, the oldest member of the church congregation.

Also on Sunday, a parish lunch in church will follow the Easter morning family Communion service at 11am. In the afternoon, a children’s Easter egg hunt will be held in the churchyard (inside if wet).

Refreshments will be served in church on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. All welcome.
