TWIN sisters from an Otley school will travel to Africa this summer after winning a bursary.

Seventeen year olds Anna and Angie Lin have been presented with the Waye Travelling Scholarship by the Foundation Governors at Prince Henry's Grammar School.

The students will use the funds to pay for a trip to Ghana where they will be volunteering in a dental health clinic.

They said: "We are very excited to be awarded the scholarship.

"We want to study dentistry at university, so this will be an amazing experience for us."

The scholarship, for Sixth Form students, was originally donated to Prince Henry's by the late Douglas Waye, a former Chair of the Foundation Governors and an Honorary Citizen of Otley.

This year's cheque was presented by Mr Waye's daughter Pam Beck, who is Secretary to the Foundation Governors, and the present Chair Dr Chris Hatton.
