A FALLEN tree caused early morning traffic chaos for commuters in Wharfedale.
The large tree came down on the A658 Pool Bank New Road, near Pool-in-Wharfedale, during strong winds at about 7am on Thursday, June 14.
It damaged a taxi - though no-one was injured - and blocked the entire road near the section where a ten-week culvert strengthening scheme is underway.
Workmen immediately closed the route to all traffic between the Dyneley Arms junction, where the A660 and the A658 meet, and the White Hart roundabout at Pool.
A local tree surgeon helped chop the tree into manageable sections so contractors could move it and the road was re-opened at about 8am.
