OLD Otliensians RUFC will hold an open top victory parade in Otley this weekend.

The club won the RFU Junior Vase at Twickenham on Sunday, May 6, capping off a season in which they have also secured promotion from Yorkshire Division Three.

Those achievements will be celebrated with an open-top bus tour on Sunday, May 20.

The vehicle is due to arrive at Chaffers Field, off Pool road, at 12.15pm when it will be decorated in flags and banners provided by the Town Council.

It will set off between 12.30pm and 12.45pm on a route that will pass the Maypole, where the club flag will be flying - from Friday, May 18 - for a full week.

The bus will then head down Boroughgate before turning left onto Crossgate, right onto Bondgate and down Kirkgate, onto Bridge Street.

It will turn right by The Bridge Church and then take two more rights to arrive in the Market Square for about 1pm.

There, the crowd will be addressed by Town Mayor Mary Vickers and Old Otliensians Club Chair Steve Robinson.

At 2pm the squad will be driven to the Otley Tavern, on New Market, for further celebrations.

The pub will be bedecked in Ensians flags outside and bunting inside for the occasion, and laying on live music and food.
