Carnival Queen wanted

10:58pm Monday 14th April 2008

By Ben Barnett »

Organisers of a street party which attracts 10,000 people are searching for a Queen.

Wrose Carnival is expected to be bigger and better than ever on Saturday, July 5.

In previous years, it has raised thousands of pounds for charity and even managed to go ahead last year, despite torrential rain.

This year's organisers say possible Carnival Queens have been slow to come forward.

A competition to find this year's queen starts on April 27. Entrants must live in Wrose and be able to attend the parade on July 5.

Anyone interested should contact Colleen on (01274) 402473 for an application form.

Bradford businesses have also been asked to back the carnival by placing adverts in its programme.

For further information, contact the carnival chairman on (01274) 405119.
