A 49-year-old Bradford man died after becoming trapped in a machine at a printing company, an inquest has heard.
William Aveyard was working the night shift at Wakefield company Bezier when the incident happened on Thursday, May 8.
The inquest was told how a colleague was sitting next to the machine, which was used for cutting, scoring and pressing card, when it started making a "clattering" noise as though it had been mis-fed.
He turned to see Mr Aveyard lying across it with his feet protruding.
Paramedics were called, but the married man, of Wrose Road, Shipley, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The inquest heard how Mr Aveyard was trained and competent in using the machine.
Police, firefighters and the Health and Safety Executive officers attended and an investigation has been started.
A post-mortem examination showed the provisional cause of death to be multiple injuries. The inquest was adjourned for further inquiries and will be resumed before a jury in due course.
Mr Aveyard, known as Billy, leaves a wife, Trisha, and daughter Helen.
His funeral will be at St Francis's Church in Norman Lane, Eccleshill, on Thursday, May 22, at 12.45pm.
