Thornton Grammar's GCSE textile students brought a taste of the fashion world to Leaventhorpe Lane school.

The students displayed a full range of the outfits they had designed as part of their coursework, and their eyecatching and colourful efforts were a big hit.

School spokesman Denise Metcalf said: "The event is a good way for the group to show their GCSE coursework to their peers.

"The students have put a lot of effort in to their work and designed some impressive and unique items."

The pupils will be graded on their efforts, which will play a part in their final exam grade.

I am actually proud to see a picture of my daughter in the article. Knowing the work that has gone into the GCSE textiles project I think the girls should be given credit for their endeavours. It's a sad state of society when your first thoughts were of young girls being exploited as under age models.
