Lister brought back to life

3:40am Friday 9th May 2008

By Jo Winrow »

Samuel Lister's legacy will come to life this weekend as Cartwright Hall celebrates Museums and Galleries Month.

Bradford actor Alex Fellows will perform a series of plays in the guise of the wool baron.

Lister's success as an innovator and a textile manufacturer left the giant Lister Mills as a major landmark on the Bradford skyline.

And part of his fortune was dedicated to the building of Cartwright Hall and the laying out of Lister Park for public benefit.

The one-man show will see Samuel Lister reflect on his legacy that lives on, a century after his death.

The shows will take place for the next two weekends at 2pm and between 3pm and 4pm.
