A strategy which aims to create a better district is set to be approved next week.
Bradford Council's Big Plan, or Sustainable Community Strategy, will guide how the Council and its partners work together to improve the district over the next three years.
Residents were encouraged to have their say on the big issues that need tackling to create a better future and quality of life in a major consultation exercise last year with people giving their views on ten key themes.

The themes were: children and young people; safer communities; stronger communities; healthier communities; older people; economic development and enterprise; environment; housing; culture; and transport.
The consultation took place last October and November and included questionnaires, focus groups and interviews. Consultation and resource packs were also handed out to organisations for them to run their own consultation events.
The feedback highlighted that the three top priorities were:
l Regenerating the city and major towns to create more opportunities for economic growth and to attract even more investment
l Improving education outcomes to prepare all our young people for an active and prosperous life.
l Improving skills at all levels to meet the needs of business and make sure local people get the new jobs that will be created.
More than 3,000 people took part in the consultation, with 1,343 completed surveys and 1,337 responses using the Council's Speak Out panel.
The plan also sets out a range of other priorities and actions which cover the six themes of: prosperity and regeneration; children and young people; safer communities; health and well-being for all; improving the environment; and strong and cohesive communities.
The Council's executive is being asked to approve the Big Plan on Tuesday and formally adopt it. Once it has been approved it will be considered by full Council later.

"The Big Plan" ..... is it really meant to make us pee ourselves laughing.
How are the views of 3000 people stupid enough to believe talking to the council will do any good be of any value? The people that should be consulted are those intelligent enough to realise that Hopkins and his bunch of expenses fueled benefit claimants should be shot.

Who comes up with these stupid ideas which cost thousands and will have absolute zero positive results.I believe its done by people within the council with no real job trying to make themselves look important, its no wonder our rates are so high.

We can't all be cynics, there must be some underlying fault with this, previous and prospective councils. Oh yes, they are politicians, there is the fault, lying, thieving, cheats. A made up consultation forum to hide more ratepayers cash. Stop spending to the outer limits of the budget, then you can use the monies received for the purpose it was intended, to improve our city, not the pockets of lazy councillors who'd rather sit on committee after committee than get involved in any proactive work.

What a load of jokers. It now appears to be a full time job for people in power but running a business would go bust. All they have to do is increase the rates for us suckers. Had a lovely magazine delivered the other day with a picture of three jokers at the new Market in Bingley. One posed with his foot up on a new bench. To have a photograph taken in that position not only shows attitude but also brain (or lack of) power. No it was not the Lord Mayor but it was still a Mr Stupid.
