A Great British institution - the humble cuppa - has been recognised after a world-famous Ilkley tea room was given an award of excellence by the UK Tea Council.
Betty's Café and Tea Rooms in The Grove will now be included in a guide, Britain's Best Afternoon Tea, celebrating the best tea shops in the UK.
Undercover tea experts from the Tea Guild visited more than 100 tea rooms and hotels nationwide during the last year to find the finest "tea experiences".
They awarded points for the variety and quality of the teas offered, as well as the service they recieved, and the café's décor, ambience, presentation and value for money.
The judges were so impressed with the quality of the afternoon tea served at Betty's Café and Tea Rooms that they awarded it high marks in every category.
It won one of 55 Awards of Excellence given to tea places throughout the UK.
