A football club is planning to install a security fence to keep out vandals.
Substantial damage has occurred on several occasions at Littletown Football Club, which operates from a ground at Milton Road, Heckmondwike.
A 93m-long 2.4m-high fence is likely to cost £6,890 but is considered the only way to protect the ground because of the isolated nature of the site.
The club has been raising funds to build new facilities, but fears they will be subject to vandalism unless the site is secured.
Club bosses also fear the financial cost and disruption of vandalism could ultimately mean the club is not viable.
The club is now applying to Kirkless Council's Spen Valley Area Committee for funds.
