A shame they could not turn their hand to opening Westfield as fast!

Westfield being referred to as the 'Broadway Shopping Centre'

Great start for the tourist office, or maybe a name change is in the offing?

Ive no idea where this is. You could of provided a photo t&a.

It will be too late by the time they have found this place on Broadway they will have already seen enough. Wrong place. What would have been helpfull if the Information centres was in The Interchange or next to the Media Museum. A small display at LBA would also be helpful. I note that the beauty spots listed are Sataire, Haworth and Ilkley, not really anything that prior to 1972 was in Bradford. I would like to bet that Skipton and the dales get an honourable mention as well.

I think it's located at the stand of Broadway opposite all the bookies.

What is the main attraction to Bradford? Showing people where the town centre was before it was pulled down? Showing people where the good shops used to be before they left the city? Where the unemployment office is? Where the people with no idea work, commonly called council HQ?

A Look North source says that if there is no update on progress from Westfield by the 1st March, then Look North are to take Cllr Greenwood to task about his remarks on Look North in saying Westfield would be back on site by Feb 2012.

Now that will be an interesting program.

I walked down Ivegate this morning - 7 empty shops, 2 charity shops, and the betting shop, just in that short street. Kirkgate isn't much better and those two streets used to be right in the main shopping centre!

The tourist info shop is now part of Britannia House. You'll see their window display is a massive map to Leeds and how to get out of Bradford :-)

I trust that the Council will advertise the location of the new office at suitable locations like the Interchange, Forster Square Station and at the city centre tourist attractions themselves and also provide street signage.

The council opening a tourist infomation center now the park has finished. They really think the park will change the fortunes of the city and people will flock to see it. They really are stupid aren't they.

Can't wait. About time this Council is being questioned about the delays in Bradford. Of course our very own Mr Greenwood could always send his staff i.e. Councillor David Green to face the music. We will wait and see!

Last week there were 4 charity shops they too closing down then, poor Bradford.

That's a lot of people spending a pound.

Excellent news! I'm so glad that we're investing in getting people to come and stay in Bradford, and having something in the city centre to show people what's available - and there's tons! - is vital.

My name is not Reno - Simply check out planning law.

No Council Authority has the power to insist that a planning application is actually carried out. However a planning application can lapse, and therefore a plan would need to be resubmitted.

Nothing illegal, just been enjoying the countryside, theatres, comedy, music, art, etc., etc that abounds in Bradford. If you take just a cursory glance at what Bradford offers, you'll be amazed. I can't comment on Wakey but I'd guess Bradford's at least as good.

Who in their right mind wishes to risk being a victim of crime just by entering the town center? Who in their right mind would wish to terrify our grandchildren with the "black clothes from head to toes brigade"? It is really scary and intimidating for children to see these ghost like beings moving around our attractions or shops- not even the eyes show on many of them so the children understandably freak out - no enjoyment in trying to calm a heartbroken terrified infant down every 5 minutes of your day out!!! There are no decent places in Bradford any more and if you really think there is it just shows how easily pleased and what low expectations you actually have. There is nothing i would want my visiting family to see here in Bradford now and to be honest it is the people that lower everything. Every attraction there is is now ruined by the scruffy swearing lowlifes and druggies/alcoholics/ and beggars. To even get to the theatre on an evening we need to park or use public transport and both are expensive or and dangerous!! The CCTV we have never faces the right way when there are crimes, so criminals roam freely on an evening and will continue to do so. The council are kidding themselves if they think this place is worth wasting tax payers hard earned money on. Maybe working CCTV would have been a better project to spend money on. Our council is run by idiots lacking in the brain department and who have no idea what the great British public -yes we do still live and belong here - really want to see in our town AND it isn't curry takeaways or wet monstrosities either!!
The last visit my family will ever make to Bradford recently was ruined due to spending half the trips out consoling frightened children who really believed the boogie men were going to get them!! Thanks for that.
