A Bradford bar manager and his cousin are to climb Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for a charity which helps children and young people with cancer.
Thomas Hindle, 24, and Liam Staveley, 19, both of Bradford, work at the Wetherspoons’s pub, the Sir Titus Salt, in Morley Street in the city centre. They are busy training in readiness of climbing Kilimanaro, Africa’s highest peak, in October and have set themselves a target of raising £7,500 for CLIC Sargent.
Wetherspoons began supporting CLIC Sargent in 2002 and has raised £5 million. “As a company we aim to raise £1m a year, so the more we raise the better,” said Mr Hindle.
The pair are enlisting the support of fellow city centre bars and clubs. Tequila Nightclub and Envy Nightclub have pledged their help.
