Eco-minded youngsters at Westminster Primary take their responsibility to the environment seriously.
Pupils plan to turn their Westminster Road building into an Eco School dedicated to easing their impact on the planet.
School spokesman Lorraine Horsfall explained: "The Eco School project is currently being set up in school by children, to make pupils, staff and parents more Eco-aware.
"Children plan to look at a range of issues including water use, biodiversity, energy, healthy living, litter, school transport and waste.
"Some of the children at Westminster are already involved in creating a nature garden where they can grow fruit and veg and also explore nature.
"And others who collect waste paper from classrooms are given recycling monitor badges
