Slugs and snails are back on the loose around the garden so, instead of poisonous pellets, why not try more eco-friendly ways of deterring them from chomping your prized plants?

Some of the remedies to try include spreading broken eggshells or putting a band of copper around the base of a plant, leaving out pots of beer for them to fall into or encourage their natural predators like blackbirds and thrushes.
