A lot of people collect thin plastic bags they get from the supermarkets or other shops to specifically use as bin liners and around the home. Instead do not use a liner at all and wash out the bin more regularly or, if you do need a bag, why not cut down your use of petrochemical plastics and buy bags made from corn starch, above, instead? These bags use less resources and fully decompose in landfill and so are not polluting.
