Bradford Bulls players have been throwing their weight behind Epilepsy Action’s Bradford 10k run.
Winger Dave Halley and Back-rower James Donaldson were in Centenary Square yesterday encouraging people to sign up to the road race, which will be on Sunday, March 20.
Mr Donaldson said: “We are proud to support the Epilepsy Action Bradford 10k.
“It is a fantastic event, bringing people across Bradford together to get fit and support a good cause.”
Since the run was first held in 2008 it has raised more than £82,000 for Epilepsy Action and almost 2,500 runners have crossed the finish line.
The 10k route starts and finishes in Centenary Square, heading down Canal Road towards Frizinghall and back.
The course is mostly flat, making it an ideal route for first-time runners and elite runners looking to achieve a personal best time.
The Airedale Athletics squad, which is supporting the race, will be hosting training clinics in the lead- up to the event. Katie Stocks, fundraising officer at Yeadon-based national charity Epilepsy Action, said: “We’re really pleased the Bradford Bulls are supporting the Epilepsy Action Bradford 10k again this year.
“We hope people in Bradford will join the team in supporting the event by taking part, sponsoring someone or volunteering on the day.”
There are prizes to be won for both males and females placed first, second and third and for winners of the veterans’ categories.
Entry costs £16, or £14 for runners affiliated to a UK athletics running club. For more information or to sign up, visit epilepsy.org.uk, call the fundraising team on (0113) 2108800, or fill in the form on this page.
The closing date for entries is Sunday, March 13.
