Superiority complex

SIR – Some time ago, during an industrial dispute about wages, it was suggested that those who were complaining about the strikers’ irresponsibility should first say how much they were earning.

It would be interesting if those now complaining about building homes on greenfield sites could say just when their own addresses were open country.

It seems to me that those opposed to new developments are using ever more irrational arguments to justify their opposition including that of ‘Dr’ D Halliday (Letters, April 13) who objects to the construction of 300 “brick boxes”.

As one who has spent his entire married life in a variety of such dwellings, I find his reasoning little better than that of those superior persons who in earlier times objected to living near to artisans’ hovels.
