Cheaper to clean it?

SIR – So, the Odeon is to be covered up for the ‘big day’. Wouldn’t a simple clean-up of the front elevation have been a cheaper option?

Perhaps a spruced-up frontage would have been an embarrassment to the powers-that-be. How would they explain to visitors and the media the intended demolition of this building that sits so well with the mirror pool area?

Presumably the saying ‘out of sight, out of mind’ applies.
