SIR – The breathless news that Gareth Gates may bare all in the latest production of Hair may help increase audience numbers.

In order to support that aim, those of us who had the privilege to see the original stage version back in the late 1960s, and even mounted the stage to join in the dis-robing love-in scene, will NOT be repeating that feat of youthful exuberance at the Alhambra this time round.

I thought all the audience, and especially the theatre management, would like to be assured of that.

There are just some things which, 40 years on, are far better covered-up now. Graham Hoyle, Kirkbourne Grove, Baildon
