SIR – While lucky enough to be out following in the footsteps of the poet John Nicholson, I was shocked to discover Eldwick Methodist Church is up for sale.
The population of Eldwick has grown enormously since 1954, which is reflected in the size of the new Eldwick Primary School on Warren Lane, compared to the original school at the bottom of Otley Road, which myself and my brothers and sisters attended.
The school has been converted for what appears to be three lucky homeowners.
John Wesley said the following words any Methodist will know, which can be heeded by the follower of any religion or none: “Do all the good you can, By all the means you can, In all the ways you can, In all the places you can, At all the times you can, To all the people you can, As long as ever you can.”
