Hockney exhibition simply brilliant

SIR – I was in London and more by default than intent I went to see the Hockney exhibition.

Contrary to what the T&A reported I had no problem getting in and had to queue for only 15 minutes.

It covered the whole gamut of his expertise from conventional to technological portrayal and was mind-blowingly brilliant, which coming from an avowed Philistine means a lot.

On the basis of pulse-quickening excitement, Leonardo will certainly have to look to his laurels, for the comparative new boy on the block won the day.

Would that the exhibition could come back home and be staged in its entirety with the same panache and expertise at Cartwright Hall.

Bradford needs to enjoy this example of the better side of life.

John Pashley, Westcliffe Avenue, Baildon
