SIR – We are told in the Telegraph & Argus that Yorkshire Forward are paying for the consultation of big hitters in the district’s property market regarding the ongoing City Park and proposed £55m Business Forest.

What will happen if common sense prevails and the consultants are told that the £24m already being spent on the pool/park could be more effectively used elsewhere, and that £55m of additional offices will be a drag on an already oversubscribed market?

Yorkshire Forward will, of course, true to form, not let this happen.

The public money wasted on the after-event consultation will result in nothing more than a pre-ordained PR justification exercise.

If we are going to have consultation at this late stage, then at least independently question the citizens of Bradford who, through their taxes, have a proprietary interest in both projects, and ask individual councillors in the forthcoming elections to declare their stance on these and other regeneration issues.
