SIR – John Cook is quite right to highlight (Letters, March 6) the disgraceful state that Yorkshire Forward has allowed the Odeon cinema building to fall into.
That Government quango should be thoroughly ashamed that it has not properly maintained the building, so that it did not become an eyesore, until its fate, one way or the other, is eventually resolved.
Our Council should also be thoroughly ashamed for not insisting that this landmark building was properly maintained, although this is no great surprise considering the way our Council has acted in recent times.
As Mr Cook rightly points out, this speaks volumes about both organisations that they have been happy to further tarnish our city’s image in this way.
The people of Bradford deserve so much more. How badly we are currently being served in so many matters by those concerned.
