A taste for change?

SIR – Timothy Kirkhope, MEP for Yorkshire and the Humber, says that Spanish MEPs are trying to persuade the EU to re-impose its ludicrous ban on wonky fruit (T&A, February 23).

I haven’t visited Spain for a while, but I always enjoyed their delicious misshaped tomatoes of different hues.

I just wonder if the thousands of British ex-pats now living there are behind this move because, like their counterparts in the UK, they prefer their tomatoes round, red and tasteless?
