SIR – Why is it that a burglar can have three strikes before something is done, but a man is fined £60 for being over the speed limit by just four miles an hour (Results are unfair, T&A, March 4)? Where is the balance in justice?
A red letter warning for the gentleman would have been more appropriate. Work with the public and it will be reciprocal. Let’s work together.
While I’m at it, the law is, in itself, aiding and abetting breaking the law by allowing cars that can do speeds far greater than the law permits on to the public highways.
