All empty promises?

SIR – It is interesting that Councillor Greaves is confident that funding is in place to deliver new railway stations at Low Moor, Apperley Bridge and Kirstall Forge.

However, the time scale for such projects remain as vague as ever, such as “possibly delivered by 2012”.

Bradford Rail Users’ Group is far from reassured that the projects will be delivered by 2012, as such vagueness has been offered since 2000, and even earlier when previous plans are considered.

If funding and time-tabling difficulties have been resolved for Low Moor, there is no reason why it should not be completed for 2010, but contrived difficulties will undoubtedly conspire against this, especially as regards Low Moor Station.

BRUG will only believe finally that a suitable outcome will be reached when actual building work commences.
