SIR – East Bierley First School provides fantastic education for all its pupils and has done for many years.

It would be devastating if it closed. It is a vital part of the village and community and it is imperative that this school remains to provide the best start to education for its pupils, the village and the community of East Bierley.

OFSTED graded East Bierley First School as ‘excellent’. Each pupil receives personalised learning and is given many opportunities that create the foundation of their education and later life.

If East Bierley First School was to close, it would quite simply be devastating. It is not just as simple as closing a school. It would take away the spirit of East Bierley village – something that would affect all generations due to the community involvement that is an integral part of this area.

Ask yourself the question: why snatch away an educational setting that is outstanding from today’s youngsters and the children of the future? It does not make sense to take away such an excellent school with fantastic and dedicated teachers.

The pupils of today and the future are the priority in this situation, and it would be an injustice for them not to be able to attend this excellent, innovative, vibrant and committed school.
